Best Practices
Setting Up Rules
- Start Simple: Begin with one or two basic rules and add complexity as needed
- Test Thoroughly: Use Shopify's preview mode to test your checkout experience
- Consider Customer Experience: Avoid restricting too many payment methods, which might frustrate customers
Payment Method Selection
- Review Regularly: Payment preferences change over time - review your restrictions quarterly
- Monitor Analytics: Track which payment methods customers prefer and adjust accordingly
- Consider Geography: Different regions have different preferred payment methods
Maintenance
- Document Changes: Keep notes about why specific restrictions were implemented
- Monitor Performance: Check if payment restrictions affect your conversion rates
- Stay Updated: New payment methods may become available and need configuration
